Fundraising The Canmore Preschool relies on fundraising efforts to keep the costs low for our outstanding programming. Every month, parents can order high-quality, low-cost books from Scholastic. The preschool receives a cut of these orders, which the teachers use to order books and other supplies for the classrooms. Every year, we test a few new fundraisers. This year, we are selling fresh organic coffee from Mountain Blends Coffee Roasters in Canmore every two or three months throughout the year. We will also partner with Le Chocolatier on a delicious Valentine's Day chocolate sale. Like many Alberta non-profit societies, the Canmore Preschool holds a casino fundraiser every three years. This two-day casino is the preschool's most important fundraiser. We rely on the proceeds of each casino to help cover operating costs for the next two years. The casino must be staffed by volunteers. Working one casino shift fulfills all the required fundraising volunteer hours for the year. Our next casino fundraiser will be held during fall of 2011.
The Rocky
Mountain Raffle is a major fundraiser for
our preschool. The funds raised from this sale help to keep the fees
affordable for our outstanding programming.
Each November the preschool organizes the Canmore Christmas Artisans' Market, hosting over forty artists and artisans. This allows artists from the Bow Valley and beyond the chance to sell their wares to a receptive audience. It is also one of the major fundraisers for the preschool. This year's Artisans' Market was a major success, thanks in large part to our crew of volunteers. The next Artisans' Market will be held on November 20 and 21, 2011. See the Volunteering section for ways to get involved.
